Our virtual classes make it possible to learn with Goat House Farm from wherever you are. These live online classes are designed to be practical, interactive, and grounded in real farm experience, giving participants the chance to ask questions, see real demonstrations, and get useful guidance in real time. Whether you are preparing for your first goats, building confidence with routine care, or looking for help troubleshooting your current setup, ourclasses are designed to be clear, approachable, and immediately useful.
Unlike one-size-fits-all webinars, these classes are personal and hands-on in the ways that matter most online. Depending on the topic, we may walk you through our setup, demonstrate skills live, review your own space or equipment, and guide you through real-time questions and challenges with your goats. Our goal is to make classes feel practical, encouraging, and connected to the realities of everyday goat care.

Bringing home goats is exciting, but good preparation makes all the difference. This class is designed for people who are planning ahead and want practical guidance before buying their first animals. During the Zoom session, we will walk you through the basics of getting set up for goats, including fencing, shelter, feed, herd needs, daily care, and common mistakes that can cause problems early on. We can also take you on a virtual tour of our own setup so you can see what works on a real farm, and if you already have a space prepared, we are happy to look at your setup during class and give real-time feedback and guidance.
Hoof care is one of the most important basic skills in goat management, and this class is designed to make it feel much less intimidating. We will show a live hoof trim, explain hoof structure, signs of overgrowth, safe handling, and the tools used for routine trimming. Participants are encouraged to set up a phone or camera so we can actually walk them through the trimming process in real time with their own goat if they want hands-on support. This class is especially helpful for new owners who want guidance, reassurance, and a clearer understanding of what a good trim should look like.
Offered seasonally, this live class introduces participants to the basics of milking dairy goats in a calm, practical format. We will walk you through our milking process, including bringing a doe to the milk stand, basic sanitation, handling during milking, simple equipment, and what a normal routine looks like. If you already have your own setup, we can also look at your milk stand, tools, or milking area during class and guide you through adjustments and questions in real time. This gives participants a chance to see a real process, ask specific questions, and get practical feedback they can use right away.
Giving routine vaccinations and injections can feel intimidating at first, but it gets much easier when you understand the process and have a chance to see it clearly. In this class, we will go over common vaccines, basic handling and restraint, needle and syringe selection, SQ versus IM injections, label reading, storage, and safe technique. We can demonstrate the process live and help participants set up their supplies, handling, and approach so they feel more confident actually giving routine care at home. This class is especially helpful for goat owners who want to feel more comfortable with routine herd care and less stressed about giving injections.
When something seems off, it helps to know what to check first, what information matters, and when a situation can be monitored versus when it needs faster action. This class covers basic first aid supplies, taking a temperature, assessing whether a goat seems normal or off, and responding to common early warning signs. We will guide participants through how to check their own goat more confidently, gather useful information, and decide what steps to take next. This is a practical, owner-focused class designed to help people feel calmer and more prepared.
Kidding season is exciting, but it is a lot less stressful when you know what to expect before the first doe starts acting suspicious at 2:00 in the morning. This class covers kidding preparation, signs labor is approaching, what supplies to have ready, what a normal delivery usually looks like, when to step in, and basic newborn care. During the Zoom class, we can walk you through our kidding setup, show the supplies we keep on hand, and help you think through your own setup so you feel more prepared and less overwhelmed when kidding time arrives.
Good goat care starts with noticing what is normal, what is changing, and what deserves a closer look. This class focuses on the routine checks goat owners can do at home, including temperature, appetite, hydration, manure, posture, behavior, eyes, coat condition, and other signs that help you assess how a goat is doing. We will demonstrate what to look for and guide participants through checking their own goats more confidently in real time when possible. This class is especially helpful for owners who want a stronger everyday health foundation without feeling like every small change turns into a panic spiral.
Who These Classes Are For
Our virtual goat classes are a good fit for a wide range of learners. Some participants are preparing for their first goats and want practical guidance before getting started. Others already have goats at home and want more confidence with everyday care, health checks, milking, hoof trimming, or other routine skills. These classes are also a great option for people who are not local, prefer to learn from home, or want the chance to ask questions about their own setup in real time.
What to Expect
These are live, interactive classes designed to be practical and personal, not passive webinars. Depending on the topic, classes may include live demonstrations, virtual tours of our setup, real-time Q and A, and guided support as participants work through their own equipment, goats, or facilities. Some classes are more discussion-based, while others are structured to help participants follow along and practice skills with guidance during the session.
Scheduling
Scheduling is flexible and may vary by season, farm workload, and animal needs. Classes are offered by appointment, while others may be scheduled as small group sessions throughout the year. If you are interested in a particular class or want help with a specific goat-related topic, we are happy to help you find the best fit!
